The colour palette for the wedding of vivacious lovebirds Elle & Dave was just as vibrant as the gorgeous couple themselves. Set amongst the secluded courtyard of the historic Guildhall in picturesque North Fremantle, the palette consisting of forest green, neon pink, black velvet and leopard print perfectly complimented the grand yet intimate venue as well as the all-embracing vibe of friends and family.
Elle explains, getting married when you’re a little older has given her a clear vison of who she is, who they are as a couple, and how they wanted their big day to look. Absolutely nailing it in the style stakes, the fetching groomsmen donned hot pink floral buttonholes, with handsome page boys Vance and Griffin sporting stylish leopard print suspenders, and the bridesmaids in striking pink heels.
Making the big day even more momentous was having all four of the couple’s grandmothers in attendance. With a special shout out for Granny Sorensen’s birthday, all guests were invited by celebrant Elaine Riley to sing her a very special happy birthday.
Accompanied down the aisle by proud mum Jo, our stunning bride exudes effortless confidence in our Capri Gown. With its thigh high split showcasing Elle’s enviably long legs, Elle describes feeling fierce and exactly like herself, but the “Vogue version”. Putting her own spin on the traditional glam look, Elle paired her Capri Gown with statement embellished earrings by Christie Nicolaides underscoring the bold magenta hues of the florals.
Flash back 13 years, what started as a boy’s surf trip was soon hijacked into a love story. Despite both being from Perth, Elle and Dave met while she was holidaying on the Gold Coast with girlfriends, and he was adventuring around Australia with his best mates. A few months later the universe brought them together again, this time back on home soil in Perth. Undeniably drawn to one another they soon announced they were boyfriend-girlfriend, which in Dave’s mum Bev’s book was VERY big news.
This union of love was an irrefutable act of fate, as it was later discovered Dave’s great-grandfather had given Elle’s Nanny Bev away at her wedding. In addition, the father of the groom’s cousin is the mother of the bride’s childhood best friend. For a moment, terror set in as Elle and Dave analysed whether they might have been cousins themselves. These worries were just as quickly refuted. With fond amusement, both Elle’s dad and stepdad recount tales of the three Ritchie Brothers from back in their surfing and footy glory days.
Through all the wonderful times, as well as adversity – a quick acknowledgment to Dave who zealously begin extensive renovations on their first home last year, with Elle 6 months pregnant with their second child and still navigating the obstacles amidst Australia’s first national lockdown. Our gorgeous couple have come out stronger and continue to exhibit such profound love for each other, not to mention just how fabulous they look doing it!
